1、 商业环境BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT

The key forces facing businesses are economic, political, legal, technological, demographic, social-cultural, as well as ethical environments. This module examines the influences of various external environments at local, national and international levels on business organisations.
2、 业务影响BUSINESS IMPACTS

This module considers the nature; history and likely impacts on the natural environment, societies, cultures, economies and political systems of the tourism, events and hospitality sectors. The lectures will cover the different types of impacts tourism, events and hospitality can have: economic, social and environmental. Given the variety of topics covered in this module, two lectures are scheduled every week for 11 weeks, including a two-hour session and a one-hour session per week. In the second one , the lecture themes will be applied to examples and case studies.

Professional Development is a fundamental aspect of the personal and professional development of students as they progress through their University degree. This module provides the required foundation for students embarking upon a career in either the hospitality, events or tourism industries.
Adopting a subject-specific approach, it offers students the opportunity to develop and refine both academic and professional skills and values as they strive to become professional, employable graduates. Drawing together the skills and expertise of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, SPLASH and select industry partners, the module provides a tailored induction into professional development for students studying on hospitality and tourism degree programmes. This is the first module in a set of tailored Professional Development modules which runs throughout their degree starting in Level 4 and culminating in Level 6.

This module lays the foundations for the students to be confident working in a commercial environment of restaurant operations that enables work-based learning and allows students to utilise interpersonal skills effectively.
5、 财务会计FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING

This module is intended to provide an introduction to accounting and finance. It is aimed at students who are not majoring in accounting or finance but who are studying introductory level accounting and finance as part of their programme in management and is particularly focused on students specialising in the Hospitality, Tourism and Events sectors.

This module develops the skills acquired in the first semester and includes managing people, resources and quality.
